I believe that life is made up of the little things. Major events just don’t happen every day, and I think that leads people to believe that life is stagnant when it isn’t.
Which is why we need to look at the little things.
Little things, just like big things, can be positive or negative.
It seems silly to let negative small things affect you, but I’m not a believer in repressing such things. If you’re annoyed, then you’re annoyed. Admit your feelings. Just react to them in the appropriate way. Only you can know if it’s worth being annoyed – either at all or for a while – at something. And you’ll only learn by trial and error.
But little positive things can really lift your spirits.
Like treating yourself on a Monday morning on the way to work, to make sure you have a good start to the day 🙂
I’m naturally cynical. I’ve found it easy to slip into that sort of frame of mind. And I think it’s a fairly big (and sometimes popular) part of my personality. But it also doesn’t take much to make me smile. So I’m not repressing my cynicism, but I’m trying to actively embrace the positivity more.
