Bike Fail

In September I bought myself a new bike. Nothing fancy, just an $80 one from Kmart.

Fast forward to it now being December and you know what? I still haven’t ridden it.

Why?

Well my current excuse is summer. Even in the car my hands are burning being in the sun. I hate being out in direct sunlight.

But in the end it all comes back to the fact that I just don’t feel like exercising at the moment this year. Yeah, I know it makes you healthier. Yeah, I know and can feel the difference in myself when I do exercise. But I don’t.

Maybe I’m yet to find the exercise that clicks with me. Maybe it sucks that I would have to go on my own because my husband can barely walk, let alone join me on a bike ride.

Or maybe I’ll end up going in winter.

How do you motivate yourself to exercise? Any tips for me?

  1. I feel ya! It can be really hard to get moving. My husband loves cycling, but it’s just not for me. I will say, once I’m doing it, it’s not so bad, and I feel good once it’s over. Maybe just make yourself go for 10 minutes and see how you feel?

    1. Yeah I think I keep thinking I need to go for some huge bike ride haha…10 mins is a good goal.

  2. I got my bike last JANUARY.. and still haven’t ridden it… whoops!!! Ha! My excuse is that the breaks need work (which they do) lol… but still. For exercising, I just make myself do it! I usually don’t feel like running, but I make myself get dressed, lace up my shoes, waste a little time stretching, and then take my first few steps. I usually feel good ABOUT myself (not necessarily just feel good haha!) while I’m doing it, so I just tell myself one foot in front of the other. It’s a battle the whole time, but it’s always worth it!

    1. And that’s where I’m stuck – I know I feel better and it’s worth it!! So why don’t I? It must be sheer laziness haha.
