What I Loved: First Edition

Happy Sunday, all! Welcome to the first edition of  What I Loved. I was thinking about what to post on weekends recently and I though it would be nice, if not all that original, to have a bit of a wrap up of the week. I’m not really sure where this series will go as of yet, but that’s the fun part of blogging!

What I Loved First Edition

So, this is what I’ve loved this week:

Work

I’ve mostly been working part time this year, but I’m coming to the end of a project and picked up some extra days. Yay – extra days is extra money. (Sadly I also know I’m about to get a $500+ electricity bill, so the money will disappear straight away.) But it’s also nice to get a project to an end stage, there’s a lot of satisfaction there.

Jacaranda Season

The prettiest time of year in Brisbane, hands down. Jacarandas are a purple flowering tree. Nature really does colours the best.

This isn’t even a spectacular one, just one I snapped a photo of while walking.

Time Out

While I like the full time work for the money and the satisfaction, it’s a bit draining when you haven’t done those hours in a long time. I felt very scattered and unsure of what to do, so I took some time out yesterday morning to get all of my notes into one place. And that felt really good. It helped a lot that I did in one of my favourite places:

How was your week? What did you love?

  1. I love Jacaranda season too. So many beautiful trees in our area at the moment, and all the lovely scents that go with it.

I really want to make it to one of the parks that have a heap and go read a book under one 🙂

  2. Nice post! I love the Jacaranda’s too!! I love working part time as well – unfortunately that will have to end for me when my little Miss goes to school in 2016. Have a great Sunday!

Thanks Shelley. I don’t like the part about part time when you earn less, but it makes life a lot more enjoyable on the time front 🙂

  3. Love your new feature, what a great idea! Taking time and and appreciating nature are two of my favourite things. Thanks a bunch for joining the My Monthly Loves link up – hope to see you there again 🙂

Thanks Tara. I feel like I need to remind myself of the good things that happen each week, and why not do it on the blog!?
