Have You Been Haunted?

Have You Been Haunted?

Firstly, this post is Hugzilla’s fault. Just cos some days you have to blame your blogging on someone, right? We don’t all blog innocently. Or something.

Have You Been Haunted?

A haunted piece of furniture was given to us once. Weird shit kept happening in the house.

Like we’d wake up to the bedroom door shut & it was a shitty apartment so it only shut if you slammed it really bloody hard. I would have woken up for that. I don’t sleep THAT deeply.

Glasses of water we left out would be balance precariously.

I’m sure more happened, but this was years ago so that’s actually all I’ve got right now off the top of my head.

Then, unknown to us, the people who used to own it did some anti ghost stuff (I have no idea of the terminology) & we never had a problem again.

So, was the furniture haunted? Have you been haunted? Is it all massive coincidence?

  1. Ewwwww! Water glasses things are just weeeeiiird! Why do ghostly things have to be so freaky? Why can’t they just do something normal like ring the doorbell?
I have had plenty of ghostly experiences in my time. Too many to even begin. I have been a bit psychic since day one and have seen ghosts many times. (My mum is also.) A couple of years ago I predicted the death of my uncle and shortly thereafter, my aunt too. It came to pass.

A house I used to live in as a kid had ‘ghostly’ doorbells… we were in a massive storm path and just before lightning the doorbell would ring. It was so cool.

  2. My parents had a ghost in the old place they recently renovated. She lived in my room. My grandmother could see her and asked us who the lady was. She didn’t know it was a ghost (and we didn’t tell her). All I ever saw was a weird white mist go from the window to the door in “my” bedroom (the bedroom that is mine at my folks house). Mum used to see the same mist go down the hall from my room to the front door. Then one day she just left. Haven’t felt or seen her in months.

Haha this was pretty small but awfully big coincidence!

  4. I have a few friends who experienced ghostly stuff and they will swear by it. Maybe it is just an over active imagination or maybe not… #teamIBOT

I sit in the if it can’t be proved or disproved then you can’t say it’s not possible camp 🙂 We simply don’t know.

  5. Never been haunted, though I have seen a ghost in broad daylight which I blogged about 🙂 it was rather unexpected!

  6. Ok I see that you posted this some months ago but the link popped up on Twitter today. 😛 I warn you – this will be long!

I used to live in what I call “Spook Central” – it was a house sitting on the same spot as the house my great-grandmother bought in the 1930s. Growing up, it was so common to see ghosts that I suppose I took it for granted lol! I’ve never heard of this happening to other people … it really must have been the house.

One time Dad saw a woman who he assumed was Mum but then she came home! Another time my parents walked into their bedroom to find all of the doors of their wall-length wardrobe thrown open. Then, when my parents were watching TV, footsteps came down the hallway, into the living room, circled the TV and then went back out again. I put their experiences first to show I wasn’t just a kid with a crazy imagination (though I had one of those, let’s be honest).

Now for my experiences – I saw a man walking down the hallway then described him to Dad and this spooked him because I had accurately described his late father, who I had never seen. Sometimes a figure would be seen in my brother’s bedroom – and often I woke up to see dark figures standing over my bed and it was a fun/terrifying game of sticking my foot out of the covers to see if they’d grab it. xD I Googled my dark figures when I got older and realised my experiences weren’t unique (“shadow people” are what they’re generally known as).

It seems weird now, but at the time it was perfectly normal. Then when I was 7 we moved next door (such a long distance!) into my late great-uncle’s house and the weirdness stopped. Well, most of it. Whenever we lost something, we’d ask my great-uncle’s wife (who died long before him) to look for it and then it would show up in the weirdest places – she was known for locating objects while she was alive. I actually lost an old coin at school only for it to show up on my desk at home! My parents still use that trick since they still live there.

Happily, in my 2000s era apartment there has been no weirdness and it’s a relief, tbh. 🙂
