Unusual Punishment

Unusual Punishment

Lets assume you were caught doing some minor crime. Hopefully, nothing that hurt anyone else, but something where the justice system decided that you needed punishment. Only, you’ve got a creative judge. They’re not interested in you filling up a jail or “volunteering” in something you don’t care about. I’m talking about unusual punishment. More specifically, unusual punishment for you.

What do I mean by unusual punishment for you? I mean something that may be considered totally “normal” or acceptable, but that you would HATE. I think for me it would attending a “finishing school”. You can read a quick summary of what it is here. I would find it horrendous to go to a “school” where, to paraphrase the Wikipedia article, academic subjects are secondary. Basically, it would shit me for people to care more about what I look than what I can do/think. I assume you’d have to wear makeup. I hate makeup. I assume you’d have to wear dresses too. Nope.

I’d love to know what would be unusual punishment for you!

  1. I use to work at a finishing school, although a business finishing school, so it was a bit more than how you looked or acted. I wouldn’t mind that for a punishment. You generally get a makeover at the end of it.
Not sure what would be a cruel punishment for me.

Haha the makeover part would be the punishment for me.

  2. Kids cricket. All day in the sun for nothing. Shitty game, hate it. That punishment would be enough for me never to do anything wrong ever!

Oh yes, that would be awful. I’ve never even sat down to watch cricket ever and it just seems so slow and boring from the ads on TV or parks I’ve driven past when it’s happening. Who wants to just stand in the sun and lunge for a ball once every 10mins?

  3. OMG yes for me it would be having to wear dress and high heels with a full face of makeup and perfectly manicured nails. Nope. Bye.

      The effort… no way!

  4. Having to iron or clean as a full time undertaking. OH HELL NO.

I’ve literally never ironed. Anything. Flat clothes just aren’t a valued item to me.

  5. Having to cook every night. Thank God I married someone who likes cooking.

      I don’t get to cook enough!! 🙂

  6. Never being able to have a dishwasher – our has broken and I already feel like I’m in purgatory! Failing that, it would have to be working as a pest controller. That would be the ultimate punishment!

I think I’ve only ever lived in one house that had a dishwasher, and that was only for a few months. Pest control would be pretty bad…

  7. Spending time with someone really disorganised and not being able to step in and set things straight. That would definitely be a challenge!

You know, I can never tell if I’m organised or disorgansed. I think I just hate putting things away, but generally know where they are.

  8. Cleaning. Any kind of cleaning or washing up, other people’s houses in particular, but even being forced to clean my house every day (and I mean properly clean, shampooing carpets, washing windows, scrubbing grout with a toothbrush, the kind of cleaning you really only do once a year, not just the usual cleaning) would be punishment enough. Either that or not being allowed to take any photographs, that would probably be a death sentence for me!

Not taking photos would be an awful one!

  9. A quiet office! I once worked in one and would get told off for loud phone voice ? Now I’m in my own little building with my favourite radio station on and I manage the place. I can be as loud as I want!! ? #teamIBOT

It’s an annoyance of mine that as a worker in an open plan office, I have to book a meeting room just for me if I need to make a confidential phone call.
