After reading my blogging buddy’s post about why she still blogs, I’d really love to hear what your why is.
For me, I’ve always written. Stories on paper as kid. Hand-coded HTML websites in the early 2000’s. Livejournal… then I found blogging, then I found the Australian blogging community. It’s just what I do, in the end. Sometimes it’s serious, sometimes it’s the complete opposite of serious. Because sometimes I’m serious, and sometimes I’m not!

I have so much going on in my head at any one time that it helps to process it (without driving everyone around me mad…for some reason they just want to talk kids, exercise, cooking and not ideas…) I did have dreams of running a business from it but I gave up on that a long time ago. I blog for me, and it’s the one thing I have for me at the moment…so it’s very important to me.
Processing is a big thing for me too. It’s so helpful to see things written. And as well as processing, it gets it “out” and makes me feel better.
My blogging time is my me time. It gives me a break from being a mum, an employee, a wife, etc etc. Blogging has enabled me to meet so many lovely like minded new people too.
I’ve always said that as soon as I stop enjoying blogging I will stop.

I love the community I’ve met blogging. I wrote for a long time just in the general internet with no real connection to others who did the same.
I write because it is a continuation of my professional career, pre-children. It’s what gives me the ‘me’ still and distinguishes me from my mummy role. I like dealing with PR’s and campaigns etc. It’s just what I have always done.
That’s a great balance of your skills and interests then!
I blog for the creative expression and the connection. Anything else, like money 🙂 is a happily received bonus.
Yes, I’ve rarely done sponsored posts as 99.99% of what I get pitched just doesn’t matter to me or is irrelevant, but those few that you do get are nice boosters 🙂
