I liked this op shop. It was busy and had more air (and less stuffy feeling) than others I’d been in on the same day. I didn’t take too many photos becuase a) it was busy and b) I got distracted debating if I needed more tripods. The items seemed a bit more contemporary than other stores I’d been in the same day. Basically it seemed pretty good and this blog post and photos don’t really do it justice. It’s not superb but it’s a good solid op shop. At least I hope it’s solid. No one wants a liquid op shop.

A little of everything, actually. It has a small selection of furniture, half the store is clothes, and it had tripods I wanted but didn’t need.

Store Details

77 Rainbow Street, Sandgate

Check opening hours and other details on The Salvation Army website for this store.

Parking is quite limited, there are two (reverse parallel) car parks out the front of the store only, and limited other street parking. However, there is a train station one side, a Maccas on the other, and a small Wooworths-based shopping centre across the road (with safe traffic light pedestrian crossing). I parked at Woolies as I was in the centre filling a script in the chemist anyway. Comply with the private parking laws (including time restrictions) if you use any of these car parks.

  1. A good range of china & I’d go for those camera tripods.

    1. If I hadn’t been so broke at the time, I would have bought them! You can never have too many tripods.

  2. LOL: At least I hope it’s solid. No one wants a liquid op shop. You’re funny.
I know what you mean by “stuffy”. Some Op Shops have a really weird smell. Stuffy is the right word for it. Lack of air. Got to have good air.
