To be on my dream team, you need to hear my crazy and constant ideas and go, awesome. How will we do that? Instead of No, you can’t do it that way. And it’s so simple when you say it like that. Really, really simple. But it’s also really rare for that to happen. What I think it boils down to is receiving logical support. You need someone who
realizes that what works for them might not work for you or that what works for them right now, might not work for you later. Like, it’s all about having someone who can realize that everyone’s different.

 

You can get advice, you can get tips, but it doesn’t matter if it’s not applicable to you. Advice has to be something that is given with respect. So if someone said to me, you’re only allowed to write books in one genre, ever. That’s not good advice. For me. I’m currently publishing a satire series. And I have drafts in my writing software that are of sideline nature and other I hate the term I’ll use it here, a chick lit book. So that advice, if given to me will be irrelevant, because, of course I can write whatever I want. It’s just writing, particularly doing anything good or subversive. So of course, I can find him multiple genres. It doesn’t mean that you given unconditional support. You know, if someone said to me, everyone only writes in one genre and I go,

 

Well, I’m writing in three, then I would expect the next response to be okay. Are you doing that as you? Are you doing that as a drawing on the pen names, I would expect them to start extrapolating out the implications of it. And that’s what giving this sort of support means. It doesn’t mean you have to be in a grant, it means you have to be able to ask a question, okay, how, okay, why or occasion that would cost $10 million, whatever the variable is, to being on my dream team. I need that sort of logical support. I need you to not care about the idea. Which is hard because I have lots of ideas. And I came up with on the other night in the path that I really, really want to do, but I don’t think I can actually handle the workload, but it’ll be so good.

 

Anyway, sidetracked… To be on my great dream team, I made that post. I need that person hugger. How will we get that done instead of No, you can’t do it that way. And it’s very hard to find people who can work in that sort of area. I think it requires a special type of person, and a special type of friendship, relationship, and trust. Because advice given without trust is not worth it. advice given without trust means that they think can only act in a prescriptive manner. That doesn’t take into account your needs, wants, desires and abilities. I like honest feedback, honest feedback, honest support and honest questions about the practicalities. So at the end of this season, right now, I’m going to leave you with the question what does it take to be on your dream team?
