October Creative Contemplations

I took the first week of October off work, with no plans. I had a cold the week before so part of the week of leave was resting from being sick, and the other part was whatever I wanted to do on a whim.

But also, having had a cold, my spoons were low, so I mostly just stayed in a small radius of my area and chilled. Spent some time laying about on park benches, enjoying the breeze before summer becomes repressive and unrelenting.

Reading: A video game novelisation. It’s… interesting. It’s not a format I’ve read before and I find myself asking WHYYYYY a lot. Some things have been changed from the video game to the book and I cannot understand why. I have paused halfway through because the things they change are weird and I was too tired to deal haha. I will finish it though as a) it was a present and b) I’ve never read this type of adaptation before, so there will be something to learn.

Gaming: We got an adapter for our old Wii and I’ve been playing lots of old Sports Resort games. Our board and remotes are broken so we need to go to a second hand shop and replace them to play some other games.

Watching: Squid Game. Like the entire world was.

Creating: Plans for NaNoWriMo 2021. I have a sci fi book at about 20,000 words that I really want to finish, but…it needs work. And I’m going to need a good plan to strengthen and add plot points as part of the high word count goals of NaNo.

Writing: Mostly fixing typos in the main NaNo project. It has not been exciting. I do not like editing my own work.
