When the doctor tells you off for doctors sucking

As the title implies, todays post is a bit shitty. I was flicking through my facebook memories and thought this was such a classic case study of patient blaming that it needed to be a post for easy reference (I hate social media-first content, it’s too hard to ever find again and limits who can see things based on who has an account and so on – blog posts forever, screw social first content).

  • Side note doctors – throw your tantrums at someone else.
  • Side note to readers – post contains language I wouldn’t use these days.

This is a personal (not public) facebook post of mine from 30th August 2016:

I just saw a GP (not either of the two I usually see) to get a medical certificate so I can request an extension at uni.

Didn’t introduce herself to me, ask what I wanted, just kinda grunted and frowned.

Then she told me off for not having a “reason” for being sick. I’m like well my other doctor has ordered blood test to investigate, look at my file.

But somehow that was my fault? It wasn’t good enough.

I requested a certificate from last Thursday to this Friday. She didn’t like it because it was 8 days not 7 days.

What the actual fuck?

Anyhooo … that was a long wait for a short and fucking stupid 2 min with a GP. Now I have another GP to avoid. Yay!!
