In early April 2025 I had applied for a job. I got an email from the company a day or two later. It said:
“We’d like to give you the opportunity to showcase your application by recording a short 60 second video introduction.”
Well, no.
I’d like you give YOU the opportunity to do some fucking work by actually reading my resume, which is a comprehensive document that explains my background and isn’t shallow, one way, or performative.
Sorry not sorry, but I believe recruitment is a two-way street. I want to see what YOU are like to assess if I want to work for YOU.
Additionally, there was ZERO information about the privacy of this video. Who would be seeing it? Is it secured in a database? Is generative AI allowed to steal my image, voice, and words?
Do some basic fucking work and have some basic fucking ethics.
