I’m beginning to really dislike it when famous or rich people talk about saving energy, because when those of us who are genuinely limited in energy talk about it, we don’t receive the praise the famous and rich receive.
When I talk about things like needing a trip out of the house to go smoothly, to need eg pharmacy staff to do their job properly, I get called names like selfish. Others get called names like lazy.
The frustrating part of this is that those of us who live with energy limiting conditions MUST manage our energy – it is a need.
When the rich and famous talk about their energy – compared to us, it’s a want, not a need.
And yet they get the praise and respect and support that we desperately need.
Power and privilege need to be examined in this conversation.
