Adjustments capitalism hates

I’ve written before about things that capitalism hates to accomodate, and now I’m back again. Communication is todays topic.

  • Clear communication
  • Timely communication
  • Accurate communication

Retail is one of the worst for this. It has been some time since I was able to walk around a store such as Kmart, but back when I could, it still wasn’t all that accessible. They don’t put signs up telling you what is in each aisle. Or even what’s in each section! I once spent too long in store trying to find paint and it turns out it was in the kids section not the craft section, with zero distinction as to why one type of paint is for craft and another is for kids.

I’m sure that’s some fucking MBA logic of “more time in store equals more money spent in store” but I’m a spiteful person so the more you fuck me around, the less money I spend. Won’t find that in a textbook though. And the MBA types will never consider that their precious “get more sales” tactics are harming someone – in this case, someone who can’t walk for long being effectively forced to keep walking.
