We shouldn’t need a brand name to be heard

Recently on Instagram I pulled together some posts. And I want them saved here, for ease of access in the future.

I referred to this post, where I wrote to opposition Minister for NDIS to remind her that MOST Australians with a disability already live in a no mans land of no disability supports.

I expanded on this in a caption:

We don’t have a brand, an acronym, a rallying cry, a sound bite. We aren’t seen. The media focuses on the hundreds of thousands of us and not the millions of us.

But regardless of names, and sound bites, and quantity of people… with these changes to the NDIS, more people will join those like me in the land of no disability supports.

I don’t want to be unsupported. And I don’t want hundreds of thousands of people to join me.

We shouldn’t need a brand name to be heard.
