Money is accessibility: book edition

A recent story of mine:

I tried to return an overdue book to the library today but the accessible car park is closed for construction (not for it being fixed, just as a place to dump equipment). And the drop off bays were all full. I didn’t have time or energy to drive around the block to the only other place I could park. So it’s now staying overdue. I’m so tired of how many spoons libraries take. It’s a new release popular non fiction book & they only had physical copies No ebook, no audio book. They could at least not make it so damn hard to return the book!

Finally got that book returned to the library days later; only because Ben came with me (I can’t walk much today) and because he was able to dodge their night time mini bobcat thingy that was being driven on the footpath.

Money is accessibility. If I had the money I could have bought the book and avoided the ever irritating “accessibility” at my local library. Ideally they would have had this book as an ebook or audio book – it wasn’t some indie release, it was a well marketed big book by a big name.
