My ultimate job would be to work on Mythbusters.
Yes, geek girl, party of one.
And no, the reason isn’t just because they blow things up. Sure, that’s part of it, but I also enjoy the myths without explosions.
What I love is that they love their jobs. You see the highs and the lows. They clearly work hard, long hours, physical tasks, but they enjoy it and they get through it by working with each other.
This is what work should be! I don’t care about what industry, pay rate or anything else – but you should get to love what you do. Your hard work should pay off! You should learn from your work.
I know some people will be thinking, “Oh, a young, idealistic person… she’ll learn what work is really like”. I’ve been working since I was 14. (11 if you count my paper route.) I know what work is like for most people. It’s like that for me now.
Just becuase a majority of people don’t like their jobs, doesn’t mean you should stop striving to do what you love. If my opinion of this changes with age, please (digitally) slap me.
To me, Mythbusters embodies loving your job; the highs, lows and everything inbetween.
But oh man, I love that epsiode where they blow up the cement truck. Best. Explosion. Ever.
Mythbusters episodes without explosions, say it ain’t so :0
Haha well it does happen from time to time!
