There are courses galore in the blogging world, and while they all offer something valuable, there’s something that not everyone teaches – that you just have to get in there and DO the work.
I’ve got some posts coming on how I generate topics and keep this blog running, but all in all, it’s not a glamorous thing to blog about because it just involves hours of sitting and typing. I like it, but it is also work and that’s what gets this blog running.
Why Consistency Wins
What do readers like about consistency? Well, knowing that you have the same standard and regularity of content allows them to develop around you as a tribe or supporter and helps you to build your trust with readers. Consistency also builds your authority in your niche.
The more arty you are as a person, the more you’ll probably feel that little question in your gut when someone mentions consistency. “I get inspired when I get inspired, ok!?” I feel that way a lot. But, personally, if I listen to that voice I just don’t get any blog posts done. I sit around and wait for inspiration, rather than using the ideas I’ve already had to write blog posts.
I go in waves. I’ll be REALLY consistent for a while… then I totally slack off.
Tip: This doesn’t just apply to blogging. Whatever you want to be good at in life, consistency will play a huge part.
Are you a consistent blogger? If not, what is your biggest obstacle?
