Some Stuff. Mostly Pictures.
I bought a red poop chair (my name for them) for my study for $20 in Bunnings the other weekend:
The worlds best comfort food. Tempura prawn udon:
New bookcase ($129 in Ikea but thanks to gift cards from attending a focus group, only cost us $29):
The outside world:
RACQ call out #1 of the weekend:
Me doing “work” by “putting notebooks away”:
Fireworks. Love the sound of them over the ocean but the show was a bit poor. Our local show society does a better job of fireworks than this large commercial event did:
RACQ call out #2 of the weekend. Turns out the car wasn’t just “left on” like call #1 said. No, the battery was dead and needed replacing. Not shocking for a 2015 car who still had an original battery, but it would have been nice if the first guy had done his job properly as I’m suspicious that he didn’t actually test the battery. Unusual for RACQ staff to do a shoddy job but the guy was clearly a bit pissy and I’m guessing didn’t want a complex (see below) job.
But wait, there’s more! RACQ #3 arrived. My car takes a non standard battery and #2 didn’t have one so they had to get one from across town and #3 brought it to me and installed it. Which also takes a long time in my car as it’s in a weird spot. There’s a joke somewhere here about how many roadside techs does it take to change a battery…
And that was the “weekend off” that I desperately needed 🙁 Not very happy or relaxing.
Someone please promise me nothing will happen next weekend and I can trot around doing whatever the bloody hell I want in peace!
Oh I hear you – nothing has been going to plan around here! I’m working so hard on rolling with the punches, but I dream of a day where I can just predict what’s going to happen and have some time to just chill the fuck out! Hope you get a nice weekend to do what you want very soon!
It would be nice to be able to plan – I’ve been in similar situations to yours and it just wears you down after a while.
I hear ya! I’m pleased you’re up and running again. That bookcase was a steal, are you going to fill it with your notebooks?!
It’s full from just books! I have three small boxes of old notebooks I think I need to get rid of but…yeah. Notebooks!
Sometimes photos just say it all, don’t they? Thanks for sharing your snaps with us and have a great week!
You too 🙂
I love a new bookcase, especially for under $30! I have heard those chairs are super comfy. They don’t really look it to me, though. And, I love your name for them.
Such a bargain bookcase. They are pretty comfy – I wouldn’t watch an entire movie in them or anything but much better than they look.
NOTHING negative or making you more stressed MUST happen this weekend. That is an order to the universe!
Thanks for linking up for #lifethisweek. Next week’s optional prompt for 36/52 is Taking Stock. Denyse
Your order was received 🙂 Got to unpack the last of the big things and do dump runs and donation runs – all the things we didn’t have time for before we moved. Finally started to feel a bit more ours this past weekend.
I like pictures 🙂 . We have that Ikea bookshelf too. Is the poop chair comfy? I must confess they don’t look comfy to me!
They are pretty comfy. I think I tried one in the shop ages ago thinking “haha this will be awful” and then it wasn’t.
