Quality Obligation

I was reading a book that talked only about sharing things that were helpful.

 

Not the first time I’ve read that and seen it demanded of all social media users.

 

The problem is, it applies (badly) to BUSINESS social media.

 

And it leaves out the human and social sides. Social media remember, it’s in the name, social.

 

Some people argue that’s what has to happen on business social media. Which… makes the business social media incredibly boring. And does boring equal quality?

 

I don’t believe anyone should share what pushes their boundaries, but business only with no humanity also doesn’t really fit well. Maybe it’s slower to build that way? And that’s ok if you want to do it that way, but. the slower build time should be acknowledged as a variable in that strategy.
