Resolution Recap

By now you may have “failed” at your New Years resolution(s).

Guess what?

No one cares.

There are two things to consider here:

1) Is it the right goal for you?

Nothing worth doing is easy, as the saying goes. But if it’s not working for you, then you should consider how you are managing the goal & if there is a way you can adapt it to your life to make it work for you. If you genuinely think it is the wrong goal for you, stop. There’s no point wasting your time.

2) You just haven’t done it.

Yeah, I’m in this category most of the time. Let’s take one of the most common goals as an example. You were going to exercise 4 times a week for at least an hour. You did it for the first few days & then had to go back to work/had kids holiday activities/something else & you just haven’t done it since. We’ve all been there.

Start now.

Stop reading this, get up & walk around the block you live on. No need to change clothes. You may not be running, but you’re already a day closer to it being a habit in your life.

Now if only I could take my own advice.

  1. Very wise – forming habits is so much more effective than making resolutions in my book. It’s the reason I gave up making new years resolutions a while ago! If you really want something bad enough, you gotta get into the habit of doing it all the time, not just on January 1 🙂
Best of luck with your goals!
