#2015TheYearOfMe Challenge 11

What Needs Work?

This week’s #2015TheYearOfMe challenge is a bit heavy again.

What Needs Work?

Let’s face it, we never have everything in balance all at once – life is busy and full. (Busy in a genuine sense, not the competition sense.)

This week I invite you to do something that you’ve let slide for too long.

What Needs Work?

Maybe it’s going for a jog. Maybe it’s a slow roasted dinner you’ve been craving. Maybe it’s something I can’t picture!

Here’s your permission to make time to do it this week.

What have you let slide? What needs work?

  1. Fun! I’ve already made this a priority this month. I spend so much time catching up on things it’s rare that I have the kind of fun I crave. Playing with kids, tickling on the bed is fun but it’s just.. nit the same.

So, I signed up for camp nano and I’m taking any snatch of temporary I can to write a fantasy story! I’m finding it exhilarating. It’s good to take time out for a real solo ‘Me’ project for a change.

Oh I kept meaning to look at Camp NaNo! November usually sucks for me so I miss out on completing a novel every year.

  2. Diet and execise. Need to focus on them. This is the week!

Even just one is a step forwards.

  3. SO MANY THINGS. My diet, exercise and uni work all need to be priorities this week!

I’ve been SO slack on exercise this year. And maybe last year too. At the moment I’m just trying to use the more hours I have at home per week to wander on the beach. I figure even a walk counts.

  4. Actually making something when I have that day each week crafting. This is a good reminder to make creativity a priority.

Creativity is something that I don’t think enough people prioritise. I used to want to sew but I never have blocks of time to do it so I’ve kind of just put my sewing machine away until such time as I have a place I can leave it out and do bits of it easily.

  5. Cleaning….not terribly interesting and no one likes doing it, especially me….. but it has to be done…..

I would be embarrassed to have anyone in my house right now – maybe that should be the one I use right now too haha. I’ve decluttered a bit recently but kind of let cleaning alongside it slip.

  6. I am happy to say I am on top of my exercise (most of the time anyway), but I would like to spend more time with my toddler. He constantly asks me to play, and I seem to always have too much on. I do definitely play with him, but it would be nice if I tried to do something with him for a few hours. Stupid housework gets in the way too much!

It’s always the little practical day to day things that take up the time we want to spend on other things!

  7. Eating well, stop eating chocolate and exercise.

I have taken advantage of far too many chocolate sales recently!

  8. I have had some ‘ME’ time on my to do list for a few weeks now, and after that I am going to take it!
