Vinnies Brisbane CBD Op Shop

After some recent interest in my op shopping (both finds and stores), I’m starting a small series about the op shops I frequent. I’ll most likely share finds in separate posts, because it is second hand shopping, which means you can find amazing stuff one week and then nothing you like for weeks after that.

I love that there is an op shop in the CBD. I can walk to it in my lunch break if I want to shop but don’t want to go to chain stores. Obviously as it’s in the CBD it is a small store, and as such it focuses on fashion (clothes, shoes, accessories) with some homewears, books and DVDs.

It is obviously an op shop of impeccable taste when they are selling Stargate DVDs. Stargate FTW.

You can even go wedding dress shopping here. They also have some formalwear/dressey-but-not-wedding clothes. Can you tell that’s a section I don’t go to? I mean, I don’t even know what to call it…

  1. Those green glasses are top notch. I am kicking myself that I missed the Goodwill wedding dress sale this weekend. Imagine the bargains! Gotta love op shops, and Vinnies is my go-to in Australia.

  2. Oh I haven’t found that one yet. There are a couple in an arcade off Adelaide St (near the corner of Edward St) that I pop into if I’m in the City.

Ooh I’ll give them a go! Thanks for the tip off.

  3. Wow! That is so organised and lovely! Thanks for sharing

  4. That’s one heck of a range! And it reminds me, I was looking at getting an Xbox, I might look at secondhand and see what they’re selling for. Hmmmm.

Oh yep, we have an Xbox One and it’s great. Does BluRays and games and Netflix and heaps of stuff. It was a really good price for all the things it does in one. Now I just need a decent TV to take advantage of stuff like bluerays!

  5. Crikey, that is like no Op Shop I have ever visited! Up here, on the central coast, there are at least 2 op shops in every suburb. I have donated a lot but only ever bought a scarf, a vase and 2 CDs. This one obviously kits itself in donations suiting the city shopper. A real find for sure!

Thank you for linking up for #lifethisweek. Next week’s optional prompt is Share Your Snaps 5. A ‘show off your photos’ post! Denyse

  6. What a treasure trove of glasses and crockery.

  7. That’s one impressive op shop, Ness.

  8. That looks like a good place to find some treasures for sure!! #TeamLovinLife

  9. It looks like a great selection of pre-loved clothing and accessories here. We also have some great Op Shops on the Gold Coast. #TeamLovinLife

  10. Wow, very impressive Vanessa. Do they put all of the jewellery on the tags (or vice versa)? That seems like it’d be time consuming but I guess they use volunteers and it helps make the goods visible.

I never try Op shopping cos it’s not often they have much plus sized stuff and I hate to have to ask!

I’m guessing they do! I don’t buy clothes in op shops though. I find it’s all quite lousy (regardless of store) in plus sized selection AND more expensive thank Target/Kmart (which is where 99% of my clothes are from).

  11. Ooooh, I like the look of those green tea cups and dinner set. Cute! #teamlovinlife
