I think my life hack/lesson/other cool word this week is that when you’re only on your second week back at work, and first full week back – a conference is too much! It has been quite a few years since I had been to a work related conference – it’s side effect of all the years I worked on contracts. Permanent staff get to go, contract staff do not. No conference is 100% relevant and the downside to a single track conference is less time to move/fidget between rooms and sessions, and also it’s harder and much more obvious when you leave the room to avoid a session that just will not have any relevance to you. I know it’s hard to plan a conference and especially one that ranges across a huge type of relevant people … so I’m thinking that next year I will pitch to speak at it. Why not? If I didn’t like parts this year, well, I guess it’s my turn to try and improve it.

Good on you for deciding to help fix something you don’t find relevant!
I figure why not!
Thanks for having me again and I hope recovery is going well.
Mostly just tiredness so that’s ok. Weekends are for napping, after all 🙂
You take care – it takes a long time to get back to all cylinders….
It does feel like a step back almost with the tiredness, but also that might just be the combination of my expectations and a big week.
I hope they agree to your pitch to speak at the next conference!

I’m certainly going to make a case for it, I’ll just have to wait and see with funding etc.
