Banish Expectations
It’s time to banish the thought that you have to do certain tasks at certain times or in certain ways. Or first thing in the morning. (Or last thing at night, or while doing yoga drinking cold press whatever-that-is while smiling at the ceiling.)
Sometimes I work well in batches. Sometimes the “tick this off once a week” or once a day type approach helps. Just as our lives are static, our systems don’t have to be set in stone either. They need to exist, but they can change with you.
It’s the internet, so here’s the disclaimer for the “but what about” devils advocate group: yes, there will always be exceptions to the rule that you can do things at your time and in your way. Taxes is probably a family universal one – there will be deadlines that are not movable. I’m not referring to exceptions here, I’m talking about 99% of the running of your business.
It matters less if you decide you’re a morning vs night person, or a batch vs a few tasks a day person … it matters that you try things and find what suits you, not what suits the latest thought leader and their life.
