A few years ago at a former employer of mine there was a company wide survey. I think this was done every one to two years.
The general consensus was that people:
- like who they work with
- are proud of what they do
- have issues with workloads
- do not trust the executive at all
If non executive staff received the appalling levels of ratings that these execs were given, they’d be fired.
Instead, nothing happened. Nothing changed.
Executives need to be held to the same standards as regular employees. Cease with one rule for them and one rule for us. Or at the very least, cease surveying us if you have no intention to take action on any issues that get raised. There are enough performative parts of working, we don’t need to be fake engaged with.
