I Never Set Up My Opt-In

I Never Set Up My Opt-In

Back in 2018, I posted about my welcome email funnel. I mentioned in the post that a task on my to-do list was to create an opt-in for the mailing lists associate with this blog. Um.. yeah. I never set up my opt-in. I still haven’t done it.

I Never Set Up My Opt-In

The main reason I never set up my opt-in is because I still have absolutely no idea what to offer as an opt-in. I have two general categories on my newsletter – blogging and non blogging. The non blogging is basically writing or random stuff these days.

Ideas

Even when I’ve looked up ideas for opt ins … I still don’t get any real inspiration. Probably because I’m my nicheless self with lots of interests that I like to explore whenever I want. GASP. Again with how dare you do more than one thing BS. I don’t fit in with any advice. And niching is always a disaster for me. Bloggers and Bacon was my attempt at that and it didn’t go well. My internet home is here and the best feedback I’ve gotten is to keep myself here because that is where people know me from and where they know how to find me. And I believe in that advice.

The Lists

In theory, the blogging email list has a topic and I could target them… but still, I’ve had no ideas that make me want to go create any kind of opt-in.

The only idea I have for my general email list is to do a chapter of one of my books as a pdf. I guess that’s an ok idea, but my chapters are also smaller than others because I don’t pay any attention to silly publication rules about how many words a book “should” be. (I’m self publishing, why would I impose rules on myself that someone else made up?)

Is there a part of blogging that has kept you stumped for years?
