July Creative Contemplations
June and July have felt like hibernation months to me. June started with minor surgery, morphed into acute bronchitis, then July everything from June just kind of dragged on and on and I wasn’t feeling up to much. I did hit my 6th Brain Poke of the pandemic (4th this year) but that, along with any health issue, really doesn’t feel like creativity.
July Creative Contemplations
Reading: A while ago I started reading Warcross by Marie Lu. I’ve struggled to finish it, not because of the book, but because of me (see above health crap). I also want to read some of her other books too.
Gaming: literally just started SOMA last night – apparently it’s the game to play if you like Alien Isolation as much as I do. Only played a few minutes though so there’s a lot to go!
Watching: I was rewatching The IT Crowd – I wasn’t sure if I had ever seen it all in order, just bits & pieces over time. But I gave up as the creators biases made me uncomfortable. There’s the obvious anti trans episode and then there’s so much “women do this and men do that” which I feel is more 80s or 90s sitcom staple than 2000s. Or maybe it was still the “norm” in 2000s and it just isn’t ageing well. Either way… not comfortable watching it anymore.
Creating: Very little. Sigh. Though I did get stuck in an irritating and frankly kind of depressing hyperfocus yesterday on gimbal choices. So that’s like wanting to create, right?
Writing: Feeling mildly proud of myself for just getting back to blog posts and patreon posts, to be honest.
